Adjustment range: +40mm, which can only be changed by releasing the lock button, preventing accidental adjustment.  Lockable in 19 positions.

With water pump/pipe pliers, the jaws grip most effectively when pressure is applied to the outer curve (the back of the pliers). Another useful tip: push the tool away from yourself rather than pulling it toward you.
